DEAR YOUNGER SISTER

I want to rescue you
I see what you’re going through

Sadness in your voice
You feel trapped: no choice

Pull to rescue you is strong
It has been there all along

I am sad for you
I am sad for me

Up and down healing journey
Want you to heal, too: be free

Selfish I feel: choosing myself
But I need to do this: heart health

Glad we had our talk today
I think you felt what I conveyed

You are with Dad: that is your proclaim
I am with me: what he did-his shame

This time, I think you understand
Be there for me now if you can

Need to choose me: visit with me if you can …

  3. My sister who is 8 years older has been hospitalised for depression for most of the last 9 years, so I truly understand this. Stepping back has been tough, I only did it in September last year after her 3rd round of ECT.. Sadly my sister was not open to my way of dealing with trauma.. I know our situations are different I am just saying I know the pain so well of wanting to help someone who often refuses that help in one way while reaching for it in another.. Sibling relationships are so complex. What is the age difference between you? Is your sis older or younger?

    1. ✨Peace to your sister, peace to you ✨ prayers for your sister ✨
My sister is almost 4 years younger than me and I’m the oldest daughter …
✨ it’s a helpless feeling … and … a long story with many chapters of hospital stays (psych) for my sister as well …
✨ it’s hard letting go … and … I’m learning to support and “be there” for her while still healing me
✨ thank you for understanding … it’s hard … truly is a tug of war of the heart … peace to you ✨🤍🦋

      1. Yes my sister has been in and out about 20 times too.. It is such a tug of war.. I had to learn about loving detachment.. it takes some time but for me I cried so much so I can only imagine how you feel.
